Francis Bessière graduated as a Medical Doctor in cardiology in 2015 at the university of Lyon, France. After a two years fellowship at the Montreal Institute of Heart in adult and pediatric cardiac electrophysiology, he joined the LabTau as a PhD student. He works simultaneously as an electrophysiologist at the Louis Pradel cardiologic hospital (Hospices Civils de Lyon) and occupies a head of clinic position.

His field of research and expertise aims to develop new technics for treating complex cardiac arrhythmias, particularly in congenital heart diseases. Dr Francis Bessière works at the LabTau on the conception of an HIFU probe for doing cardiac ablation non-invasively. He is involved in ex and in vivo experiments for developing this new approach. In parallel, he works in developing solution to assess real time anatomical monitoring of thermal ablation during electrophysiological catheter based procedures.
