Dr Francis Bessière graduated as a Medical Doctor in cardiology at the university of Lyon, France. After a training at the Montreal Heart Institute and CHU Sainte Justine in adult and pediatric cardiac electrophysiology, he joined the LabTau to complete his PhD. He works simultaneously as an electrophysiologist at the Louis Pradel cardiologic hospital (Hospices Civils de Lyon) and leads the pediatric and congenital EP program.

His field of research and expertise aims to develop new technics for treating complex cardiac arrhythmias, particularly in congenital heart diseases. Dr Francis Bessière works at the LabTau on new approaches and devices for doing cardiac ablation non-invasively and on ultrasound based original methods for arrhythmia mapping and lesion monitoring.

Member of national and international groups devoted to improving treatments of arrhythmia in pediatrics and adults with congenital heart diseases (PACES and ISACHD).
