Victor Barrère received an engineering degree in mechanicals from ISMEP (Institut Supérieur de Mécanique de Paris) in 2016. His formation focused on industrial modelling and conception. In 2015, he joined the LabTAU for an internship he has followed as a PhD student.

He works on thermometry and tissue characterization by acoustic imaging, parametric imaging and elastography during High Intensity Focused Ultrasound Intervention. He specially focuses on getting information from backscattered signals. The goals of his work are both monitoring and describing tissue change during HIFU exposition.
