Emmanuel Blanc

Emmanuel Blanc, Directeur Recherche et Développement, a rejoint la société EDAP-TMS en 1989 comme ingénieur développement. En 1991 il a pris en charge le développement de l’ABLATHERM®, dispositif médical utilisant les ultrasons focalisés (HIFU) pour le traitement du cancer localisé de la prostate. Il a été successivement impliqué dans le développement de la technologie HIFU, les essais pré cliniques et cliniques, la conception industrielle du produit et son lancement commercial.  Directeur du département développement, il intervient dans les différents programmes de coopération avec les partenaires de la société EDAP-TMS en particulier l’INSERM et différentes structures hospitalières. Durant 7 ans, il a été président du cluster régional I-Care dédié aux technologies de la santé. Il a préalablement travaillé pour la société METRAVIB-RDS, société de recherche sous contrat spécialisée dans les domaines de l’acoustique et des vibrations pour les applications civiles et militaires. Emmanuel Blanc est ingénieur en mécanique, acoustique et vibration, diplômé de l’Université de Technologie de Compiègne (UTC).

Emmanuel Blanc, C.T.O., joined EDAP-TMS Company in the early 90's as ABLATHERM® project manager, a device using High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) for the treatment of localized prostate cancer. Emmanuel Blanc has been successively involved in HIFU technology development, pre-clinical and clinical trials, product design and pre-marketing. He is currently managing the company research and Development department and the cooperation programs with the French Institute for Medical Research (INSERM) and several academic and clinical institutions in the domain of therapeutic ultrasound. He was the former president of the medical device industry cluster “I-Care”. He has been working previously for METRAVIB-RDS a company dedicated to research and services for industrial and military acoustical and vibration applications. Emmanuel Blanc is graduated from Compiegne University of Technology (UTC) as mechanical, acoustical and vibration engineer.
