·        EARLY ACHIEVEMENTS TRACK-RECORD

 

W. Apoutou N’DJIN received the PhD degree from the University of Lyon (Claude Bernard Lyon I, Lyon, France) in 2008. He worked from 2005 at the French National Institute for Health and Medical Research (Inserm Unit 556, Lyon, France) on the development of toroidal ultrasound focusing for ultrasound-guided intraoperative thermal ablations of liver metastases (LMCC). From 2009 to 2011, he performed a post-doctoral fellowship in Canada at the Sunnybrook Research Institute (SRI, Imaging Research, Toronto, Canada) and focused his research on MR-guided High Intensity Contact Ultrasound (HICU) strategies for developing temperature-controlled endocavitary/interstitial thermal ablations of localized tumors in prostate and brain. To date, he works as a Research Associate at the Laboratory of Therapeutic Applications of Ultrasound (LabTAU, Inserm Unit 1032, Lyon, France) on multi-modal image-controlled ultrasound therapies. He especially investigates novel technologies (CMUT transducers) and focal/conformal treatment strategies for targeting localized cancers (brain, liver, prostate) and functional disorders (ultrasound neurostimulation, cardiac applications). He is involved in translational research from numerical modeling to experimental development of therapeutic and image-guidance strategies, in a pluridisciplinary environment including physicists, engineers, biologists and clinicians.
